Having been regularly visiting South Africa for several years I thought I knew that beautiful country. Cape Town is a place hard to describe as it’s just too varied and multifaceted. Only after experiencing the safari with Andrzej Rutkowski and Amelia Leszczyńska-Hołowacz I realized what a fantastic place I’ve been to. What I’ve been shown in those few days, those less travelled roads, will stay in my memory till the end of my life. I guess I finally found the organizers and company kenako-africa.com that I would like to stay with.
When we talked with Andrzej and Amelia about safari they promised to show a different side of Africa, they even promised to go back in time and indeed, at John’s piano we found ourselves in a different epoch.
We were in Prince Albert, Matjesfontein, and then Swartberg mountains and its Great Karoo desert. There is nothing to add, one has to travel this route by oneself to be able to appreciate its beauty. South Africa amazes me more and more. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the world. We are already planning our next year trip.

Africa has always been my dream. Today it’s my longing. Now, back home, half a year after our trip I can still smell its air, see its colours, hear its sounds… thanks to Andrzej and Amelia, people who uncovered Africa for me and my husband, people who made our dreams into reality. Thank You so much.
The great knowledge that Andrzej shared with us from morning to night, his skilfully creating of a great atmosphere in our group, his intelligence, unbelievable stories – the real ones and those bordering with fantasy, made that this exactly trip made its way to the top of our trips to date. Our guides did their best to complete the extremely rich programme of the trip into our time schedule. We were absolutely impressed by their enthusiasm, energy and great sense of humour with which they shared their long time gained knowledge about the places they literally moved us to. We felt that they both love Africa. And we are still not sure, whether it is their love for the continent, or the charm of those places and magic of the country – we are now both in love with South Africa.
We all know how important it is to have trustworthy, solid and honest partner to whom we entrust organising of the journeys of our life. The travel agency KENAKO of Andrzej and Amelia proves that “small is big” J (small refers to its size). First, they patiently accepted our ever changing ideas while planning the trip, and later with all their expertise and professionalism they just made our dreams come true. We chose Zimbabwe&Bostwana Safari Programme. Having in mind and appreciating involvement of Andrzej and Amelia, their professionalism, sympathy, guiding skills, tourist assistance before, during and after the trip, the rich and attractive programme, surprises during the trip (real ones, ha ha ha), we recommend KENAKO travel agency as a trustworthy partner, guaranteeing the experiencing of fantastic moments, not necessarily experienced in a conventional way.
Would you like to know more? – write me at monisiaj@wp.pl. To sum up, it’s a pity that KENAKO does not operate in other parts of the globe. Without hesitation we will choose their service and their offer regarding South Africa in the nearest future, and if they ever widen their service to other continents – we are interested now.
Africa delighted us two times – first time in the 2008/2009 when we travelled through South Africa, and second time in 2015 when we were getting to know South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Each time we traveled with Andrzej Rutkowski and we can’t imagine sightseeing Africa with package tours by travel agency or “on your own”. In those 2 weeks Andrzej doesn’t allow you to get rest and that’s why in a fairly short time one gets the chance to see quite a part of Africa. The routes are planned in such a way that from one day to another one falls more and more in love with Africa. It is hard to decide what fascinates the most: Kruger National Park – nature and the wild animals there are breathtaking, and thanks to our guide one learns many interesting facts; Victoria Falls – perhaps the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, or direct contact with wild animals – unforgettable (don’t forget to hug an elephant – it’s beyond comparison). Except for sightseeing trips Andrzej also took us to the best restaurants and tavernas where one gets the chance to get accustomed to a local superb cuisine and meet the people who prepare the food. For some sightseeing is enough, others want to feel the flow of adrenaline – Andrzej always takes the opportunity and proposes, for example, bungee jumping from the highest bridge in the world. And these moments are captured by a wonderful photographer – Amelia, who knows perfectly well how, when and where to stand to take these exceptional pictures. If you really want to meet Africa and later recall it as the expedition of your life do it only with Andrzej Rutkowski.

I am an enthusiast of travelling. Since 2003 I turn every dreary, wet autumn into an exotic trip and by doing so I “load my accu”. I’ve visited several countries of both Americas, I travelled across Asia, I spent a wonderful time in Australia and New Zealand. For the year 2013 I wished to do something special, mainly due to the fact that I was supposed to travel for the first time with my 23-year-old son. We both dreamt about Africa. I’ve been to Tanzania and Kenya before but having been continuously encouraged by a friend of mine – this time I wanted to go to South Africa.
At first, I wanted to travel on my own, however, for a European South Africa still appears to be a “risky destination”. We could not imagine moving on our own without feelings of discomfort and anxiety – and feeling so contradicts being relaxed. We managed to talk a couple of friends into our trip, now, there were four of us. What we wished for was a trip with close friends, an intimate atmosphere, not a big group, as it always is with Polish travel agencies.
And just at the same time we were recommended Andrzej Rutkowski bureau. After exchanging a few emails and after a few telephone calls we set up our travel plan – or rather – we accepted the proposal of our guide. We flew to Johannesburg on our own. Andrzej fetched us from the airport, and immediately we felt we shared the same wavelength, after that it only got better… We were offered full service and care. We drove in a comfortable van miles and miles of amazing routes making use of our “countryman” and guide’s and experience. Every place we stopped was carefully selected to our needs. During every stage of our journey we managed – mainly thanks to Andrzej’s efforts – to see what was there to see – in Kruger National Park we “hunted” the BIG 5, we lived in the bush and in luxury, we drove on comfortable, modern roads and simple country roads to pure wilderness. Andrzej took us to the places where we admired Nature’s wonders and beautiful colonial towns. We had an opportunity to taste exquisite brandy and quality wines; we ate dishes not available in Europe. And, what’s most important – after the initial payment we didn’t have to think or worry about any other expenses. It is an incredible comfort – to be able not to worry about the finances and just live up to the moment.
We received Africa as a beautiful country offering wealth of Nature’s wonders and the availability of high standards at the same time. We never felt danger, Andrzej took care of our comfort and peace, he made that we consider that trip as our best holiday until now. What’s more, we left Africa having new, dear friend. The way we spent our time, the comfort, friendly atmosphere and intimacy in a small group, is something absolutely invaluable and I strongly recommend that form of vacation to everyone.

In February, cold winter in Poland, and we flew to a pleasantly warm Africa where we had the unforgettable adventure of our life. We travelled for two weeks and made 6 thousand kilometers!!! Except for seeing beautiful remote areas of the country, observing wild animals, we also met on our way many interesting characters, and there was no end to nice surprises. Thanks to Andre our dream journey was at the same time the most entertaining and exciting journey. But, be prepared, going to Africa with Andre as a companion is like an addiction!!! Soon, we go for another trip with the same ‘tourist guide’. Safety, professionalism, unforgettable impressions, I heartily recommend!!!!

In February 2010 we spent an unforgettable two weeks with Andre as carer, travelling about six thousand kilometers through the Rep.of South Africa.
Andre took care about our disposition and the atmosphere during the trip. He planned our stay there and made happen that we had seen the most beautiful remote areas of South Africa.
We were given a great dose of unforgettable experiences and good memories for time to come.
It was a journey of our life…

Andre Rutkowski was our guide two times. During each visit we discovered different, amazingly beautiful faces of Africa. Breathtaking landscapes and views, waterfalls, canyons, caves, safaris in Kruger Park, the ‘Big 5’ and contact with nature, elephant’s ‘orphanage’, playing with lion cubs or delicious African vine are just few of the attractions. We were never bored, and what’s most important – we felt safe. Our dream now is to take our kids there.

My adventure with Andre and South Africa started almost 10 years old. It’s hard to explain whether it is the magic of Africa itself or charismatic nature of Andre what draws me there…perhaps this and that. Every time I’m there I feel I had been there before, as if I walked these routes in my previous life. I have the feeling that this land, the ocean speaks to me, reminds me of the things I’ve lived through and at the same time I experience completely new things. I have to be there again…I have to smell the air at the ocean, drink cup of coffee in one of the beautiful, colonial small cafes in Cape Town, and get quiet in Kruger Park observing how nature for thousands of years does very well without humans…listen to never ending stories of my guide. TIA 🙂

For the majority of my family it was our first journey to Africa. Thanks to Andre, feeling absolutely safe, we reached the places and met the people whom we would have never met if we had chosen package holiday with an ordinary travel agency.
The precise schedule of the trip made that there was not a single moment of boredom, perfect organization – adapted to all ages, with a tinge of humor and fantastic character of Andre, made that each of us can easily consider our trip to the Republic of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana – a Journey of Our Life.
Choosing Andre as our guide was the best possible decision. His great knowledge of Africa, willingness to help or answer any question, or satisfy almost every whim, make that it is hard to imagine another visit to Africa without him or his help.
When he said, just after our landing there, we would be in love with Africa soon we couldn’t have known that our wish to go back there would appear so quickly.
Once more: Thanks a lot Andre!!
